Anna Hademalm – Water Industry Internship Program
The Water Industry Internship Program brings together a number of students from all over the country each summer to explore the water and sanitation industry, one of society's most fundamental but also most invisible sectors. During the program, participants get to meet leading players in the industry, work on a joint project, and build a network that extends far beyond the summer. In this interview series, […]
The water industry's mapping of how digitalization is developing within the water and sanitation industry
Help influence and respond to the survey that the Water Industry has sent out to its members and other stakeholders in the water and sanitation sector in Sweden to map how digitalization is developing in the water and sanitation industry. The aim is to map the driving forces and obstacles that exist, as well as which areas should be prioritized going forward. Digitalization here refers to the use […]
The water industry's mapping of the water and sanitation sector
The Swedish Water Industry has sent out a survey to its members to map the water and sanitation industry. The aim is to map skills needs and identify the recruitment challenges that the industry faces – both today and in the future. Case ”Smart substrate management to minimize water requirements in food waste pretreatment”
Outside Östersund, Purac has built an energy-efficient biogas plant for Bioga i Jämtland-Härjedalen AB. The plant receives a variety of organic substrates – primarily dairy by-products1, cattle slurry and food waste. The plant pre-treats and digests the organic substrates and thus converts them into biogas, a fossil-free fuel, and a nutrient-rich liquid biofertilizer.
Case ”Strate-Pelleting-of-biofertilizer”
Purac, together with Alviksgården Lantbruks AB, has developed a process solution, Purac ReNuTM, which converts the digestate from a biogas plant into an attractive, nutrient-rich fertilizer product that provides easier fertilizer management, reduces the need for fossil fertilizers and reduces nutrient leakage to the soil.
Case "Climate calculation of distribution pumps and climate requirements for procurement"”
The Färgens waterworks in Alingsås municipality is being expanded to meet future needs, and the existing distribution pumps are being replaced with new pumps. Read more about how it was done.
Case – ”The road to the pumping stations of the future”
From downtime to operational reliability – a new generation of pumping stations. To reduce operating costs and improve operational reliability, Luleå Miljöresurs installed Sweden's first Awalift pumping stations in 2024 – a closed system with a separation vessel that effectively prevents clogging of the pumps and reduces general wear and tear.
Case: ”Härryda Municipality optimizes water monitoring with digital solution”
Härryda Municipality has not only optimized its water monitoring but also improved its ability to act in real time and prevent environmental impacts. Aqua Robur’s IoT Portal has become a valuable platform for managing and analyzing data, enabling the municipality to streamline its water management and increase its sustainability.
Case: ”It wasn't the pump but the agitation in the tank”
We noticed that one of our customers started ordering an unusually large number of spare parts for their pump and involved us in trying to find the cause. In this case we tell the story. The biogas company in Central Sweden produces biogas where the process uses an eccentric screw pump to feed the biosubstrate to the hyinization. After several years of operation without problems, a sudden […]
