Case: ”It wasn't the pump but the agitation in the tank”

We noticed that one of our customers started ordering an unusually large number of spare parts for their pump and involved us in trying to find the cause.

In this case we tell about the case. The biogas company in Central Sweden produces biogas where the process uses an eccentric screw pump to feed the biosubstrate to the hyinization. After several years of operation without problems, a large recurring need for maintenance on the pump suddenly arose. Several meetings were held with the customer to see if we could find the cause of the problem that had arisen, but without result. Seepex then proposed to install the Seepex digital solution where several sensors are installed on the pump and send data to the Seepex cloud. With the expanded data, Seepex was able to see weekly trends, which was not as clear in the customer's SCADA system.

Seepex was founded in 1972 and is a specialist in eccentric rotary lobe pumps with production in Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia. The head office is located in Bottrop, Germany. Since 2021, Seepex has been part of the Ingesoll Rand group.
