The water industry chooses the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre and Vatten2023

A new, socially important meeting place will be established at the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Center in Gothenburg in collaboration with the Water Industry on October 24-26, 2023. Together with companies and organizations, the parties want to bring together important actors at all levels in one place.

The water industry and the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre are starting a collaboration to arrange a new and unique meeting place that will set the agenda and enable continued development.

– People and industries need meeting places where we can exchange experience, spread expertise, make contacts and build relationships. With Vatten2023, we want to create a new type of meeting place that gives the entire industry a common platform. There is a lot that is changing right now, both the world situation, the environment and the shift we are in when it comes to new major investments. This requires us to create new organizations and ways of working. To succeed in this, we need to meet and through dialogue ensure better understanding and efficient and safe work, says Anette Seger, CEO of Ramboll and chairman of the Swedish Water Industry.

– We are incredibly proud to welcome the water industry to Vatten2023 and us, after fierce competition with other trade fair organizers, says Carin Kindbom, President and CEO of the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Center Gothia Towers. The city of Gothenburg, which is facing a historically expansive phase in investments and infrastructure, can offer the right setting for Vatten2023, which will be a matter for the entire industry to meet, exchange knowledge and share both crucial experiences and innovations and solutions for a sustainable future.

– The water industry wants to create a forward-looking meeting place to strengthen existing relationships and create new business, present the latest technology and work for long-term sustainable and climate-smart investments. We have chosen a partner who is the right actor to bring together this socially important industry, says Joachim Jämttjärn, Secretary General of the Water Industry about the decision.

A future arena in Gothenburg

Vatten2023 is expected to welcome a large number of national and international visitors and will be an arena for innovation, influence, inspiration and new business and will consist of three parts:

  • Water Expo, where stakeholders can meet, find and discuss new solutions
  • Water Summit, is the conference during Vatten2023 where the industry's challenges are discussed by decision-makers in both industry and politics
  • Water Frontiers becomes a separate area with a focus on the industry's innovation development and new technical solutions

– We want to create a meeting place together with the Water Industry for the entire industry. It fulfills an important function in defining what is needed in the future and leading that work. Vatten2023 will invite important actors from municipalities, politics, interest organizations and industry to raise the industry's important and current issues higher on the agenda, says Henrik Edman, business manager for Society and Tech at the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre Gothia Towers.

Vatten2023 will be held at the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre from 24 to 26 October 2023.
