”Vi tar vatten för givet – och det är just därför vi behöver öva mer!” Den 19 november är säkerhetsexperten Jörgen Holmlund en av paneldeltagarna på Vattenindustrins FORUM26.
Jörgen har gedigen erfarenhet av strategiskt säkerhetsarbete i olika roller inom bland annat polisen och Försvarsmakten, både i Sverige och internationellt. För honom handlar VA-beredskap om betydligt mer än teknik och system.
Why do you choose to participate as a panelist in FORUM26?
– We are used to turning on the tap and almost naively assume that there will always be clean water. But water is critical infrastructure and a vital societal function that we need to protect and understand
better. FORUM26 is important because it creates something that is often missing – the opportunity to train together.
Why is it important to train for a potential crisis?
– You have to understand collaboration before the crisis happens. Everything is interconnected. You need to understand who owns the issue, who is responsible for what and who needs to complement each other. The real crisis will not look the same as during the exercise, but you are better prepared. Those who are prepared and understand the problem have a much better and shorter starting distance. Therefore, training is absolutely crucial for coping with the crisis when it does come.
What do you think participants will get out of FORUM26?
– That we have learned new aspects of how we handle crises together. When you practice, new pieces of the puzzle always appear that are absolutely crucial that no one had previously thought of. We will be a group that knows different things in security and preparedness. And we will be able to think outside our own box – something that is absolutely crucial for preparing for future crises.
What are you most looking forward to?
– FORUM26 is about understanding how collaboration works when it really matters. Not just in theory, but in practice. That's why I look forward to meeting new people with other fields of knowledge and listening to other perspectives. There is always someone who sees something from a completely different perspective. Simply learning something new!
