EasyMining new members in the Water Industry
EasyMining is a new member of the Water Industry and the company, which is part of the Rang-Sells Group, is an innovation company that develops and implements sustainable industrial processes that create true circularity. We took the opportunity to ask Simon Warnquist, a sales engineer at EasyMining, a few questions about their operations in water purification.
Tell us more about EasyMining
– EasyMining, is an innovation company that turns waste into valuable resources. Through our patented technologies, we recover important nutrients from waste streams – resources that otherwise risk being lost. We extract, among other things, phosphorus and nitrogen from sewage sludge and reject water, thereby contributing to a more circular flow.
Why did you choose to become members of the Water Industry?
– Transitioning to circular water management requires collaboration between technology providers, decision-makers and legislation. As members, we can contribute our expertise in resource recovery while strengthening the industry's voice on important future issues.
What challenges do you solve for your customers?
– We primarily help wastewater treatment plants to manage their residual products in a more sustainable and economical way. Through technologies such as Ash2Phos, we enable a high degree of purification and recycling of phosphorus from sludge ash, while at the same time separating heavy metals such as cadmium. We thus solve double challenges: we reduce the environmental impact and secure the supply of circular nutrients for the agriculture of the future.
What do you consider to be the most important issue for the water industry?
– The climate transition, the issue of creating the right incentives and regulations for resource recycling. We need legislation that not only focuses on ”getting rid of” waste, but also requires recycling the valuable substances found in our water streams. Harmonizing quality requirements for circular products is crucial to creating a functioning market.
What issues are you particularly passionate about at EasyMining?
– We are passionate about breaking the dependence on virgin and often problematic raw materials. The fact that we currently import fossil-based fertilizer while depositing valuable phosphorus is a systemic error that we want to fix. We are also passionate about detoxifying the cycle – it is not enough to recycle, we must ensure that what we return to nature is clean and safe.
What do you want to contribute to the Water Industry?
– We want to contribute with our technical expertise and our experience in scaling up innovations from lab to industrial scale. We also want to be an active voice in forming opinions to show that the technology for a circular water sector is already here – now it is a matter of daring to implement it and creating the necessary political conditions.
A warm welcome as members of the Water Industry!
