Norconsult are new members of the Water Industry and we took the opportunity to ask Sandra Kuru, Business Manager Water & Climate at Norconsult, a few questions about the company and what they specifically do in the area of water purification and water treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At Norconsult, we work with the entire water chain, from raw water and drinking water production to wastewater treatment, stormwater and climate adaptation. The beauty of our work is that we get to help solve some of society's most basic needs. We help our clients develop and future-proof their facilities and systems. This can involve everything from expanding a water or wastewater treatment plant to ensuring long-term drinking water supplies and finding smarter and more sustainable ways to use our water resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Why did you choose to become members of the Water Industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Water issues are too important for any one actor to be able to drive them alone. We want to be part of where the industry's actors meet, share experiences and drive development forward together. The water industry is a strong platform for just that, and we look forward to both contributing our knowledge and learning from others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What challenges do you solve for your customers?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Many of our customers are facing major challenges right now. Infrastructure that needs to be renewed, increased demands from authorities, climate change and sometimes limited resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our role is to help them navigate that landscape and make informed decisions. By combining expertise from different disciplines, we can illuminate issues from multiple perspectives and create sustainable solutions that work in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What do you consider to be the most important issue for the water industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If I had to choose one question, it would be how we secure the future water supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We see increasing pressure from climate change, population growth and a changing security situation. At the same time, water is a resource that we often take for granted. We need to raise the priority of water issues in society and dare to invest long-term in both infrastructure, skills and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is also about strengthening preparedness and ensuring that the water supply functions even in the event of disruptions and crises. Water supply preparedness is an area in which Norconsult has built up strong expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What issues are you particularly passionate about at Norconsult?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We want to contribute to a society that is sustainable and attractive to live in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Through our expertise in community construction, we help our customers make decisions that last over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We believe that the challenges of the future must be solved through collaboration between different competencies. One of Norconsult's strengths is the breadth of specialist knowledge in many different areas, which allows us to take on very complex assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What do you want to contribute to the Water Industry?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n We work on many different types of assignments and thus bring with us many perspectives from our clients and partners. We are happy to share this knowledge. But perhaps most of all, we want to help translate discussions into action. There is already a lot of knowledge in the water sector. Now we need to continue to collaborate and make things happen.
