Water Industry Internship Program<\/a> brings together a number of students from all over the country every summer to explore the water and sanitation industry, one of society's most fundamental but also most invisible sectors. During the program, participants get to meet leading players in the industry, work on a joint project and build a network that extends far beyond the summer. In this interview series, we present this year's participants in the internship program.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tindra Aminoff is in her third year of the Civil Engineering program at Chalmers University of Technology and will take the next step towards a master's degree in infrastructure this fall. This summer, she is one of the students in the Water Industry Internship Program, a step that feels like a natural continuation of the path she is on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you end up on a course against water?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I have always wanted to do some kind of community service, but I also really enjoy problem solving. It was precisely that combination that led me towards civil engineering. And since then, during the course of my education, the water and sanitation industry has attracted me more and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What attracted you to the Water Industry Internship Program?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What attracted me was the opportunity to see what it's like to work in different parts of the industry. To meet knowledgeable people and discuss topics that I'm passionate about, and that those around me are also committed to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water and sanitation industry is said to be socially important but invisible. What makes it exciting for you?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The water and sanitation industry is exciting precisely because it is so important, yet invisible. The fact that it is invisible perhaps makes the challenges even greater, but also even more important. For me, it feels meaningful to be useful in society, and to be able to feel every day that what I do actually matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you hope to learn during the summer, and how does it fit into your future?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I hope to learn how the industry is thinking ahead. Where are we now? What needs to be developed? What challenges are there? If I can get a better picture of what needs to be done, I hope to gain a broader perspective on what I can contribute, and what I actually want to do in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you could wish for one moment during the summer, what would it be?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To visit treatment plants. Both wastewater treatment plants and drinking water plants, to see what the different processes look like and how everything actually works in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
