Today it is a given that the water from the tap is always drinkable, but few people think about how much technology and work goes into it. It is rewarding to work in an industry where the pursuit is the best interests of the environment and people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tell us about the job you have today!<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 I work on developing solutions for waterworks that will meet the future need for drinking water. In the future, waterworks will need to be built to purify poorer raw water quality than today due to climate change, while the need for water will increase in urban areas as cities grow. It is important to be able to estimate future scenarios and find robust technologies that will work for several decades to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What does a typical day look like?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 During a day at my job, I often perform a mix of different tasks. I calculate the dimensions of process steps, chemical dosages and surface area requirements. I usually also investigate various questions about process selection by contacting existing facilities, suppliers or reading literature on the subject.
